Has anyone tried Uricelax as treatment for gout and if so, does it work?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 1 Comment
I cannot find any independent reviews even though there are a couple gout websites claiming it is the #1 treatment, but without real verification. This tells me that Uricelax or a related company could have made that claim. Also, what is even stranger is that in the Uricelax website, there is NO CONTACT INFORMATION!! Under Contact Us, it is completely EMPTY!!

I have had these pains for like 5 years and I am 32 now. They initially started in the joint of my big toes then my ankles and recently my knee. There is a lot of swelling that often turns red and then bruises. This was intially diagnosed as gout but the preventative treatment did not work at all. I eventually found some relief using Arcoxia/etroxcib however the pain has progressively became more constant and is often so bad I can not walk or even get to sleep. I have had another X-ray to see if it is Arthritis but I had these 2 years ago and they were clear. Because I have to take Arcoxia almost constantly the doctor stopped it due to the risk of heart attack and put me on Tramadol for the pain – which works to extent but the swelling remains and whilst I can rest in reasonable comfort I still can not walk more than a few metres.
Is there any other conditions it could be as the Doctor does not feel it is gout due to the permenance of the pain and the fact the joints flare up and the slightest knock or walking any appreciable distance.
If you are still reading thank you I know it is lengthy

I need gout remedies, foods to avoid with gout, treatment for gout without drugs or doctor, and gout causes?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 3 Comments
I have had gout for almost 3 years and gave up drinking because of it. And I have not had a gout attack in almost 3 years, until yesterday. Now I’m scratching my head wondering what has caused my gout to comeback. I didn’t drink any alcohol. I’m looking for gout home remedies because I used to take the drug indomethacin for my gout relief, but that medication is so hard on the liver that I would rather look for a natural remedy. Any info is much appreciated.

Is it usual to suffer from swollen limbs during an arthritis attack?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 2 Comments
About a week back, my left feet became swollen and turned red. the pain was so excruciating, I couldn’t set my foot on the floor. First it was diagnosed as gout but my uric acid level is well within the normal range. So the doctors decided it was arthritis and suggested treatment for it. Now my feet don’t hurt that much but it still gets swollen when I walk around. It that normal for arthritis? Could it be an injury from stressed ligaments?

I am allergic to NSAIDs and aspirin. What kind of painkiller can be used?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 1 Comment
The usual treatment for gout, a form of arthritis, includes anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS) or plain old aspirin. I am allergic to both! Is there any kind of painkiller that I might be able to use?

Informative Speech
Title: Medicinal Marijuana Technology
General Purpose: To inform.
Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about the history and evolution of medicinal marijuana technology.
Central Idea: Knowledge of medicinal marijuana has a long history that spans many cultures, and has advanced much over the years.
Organizational Pattern: Chronological Order
I. Introduction
A.Attention Material
(Powerpoint Visual Aid/picture)
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. Otherwise known as (THC), this substance is found in a plant commonly referred to as marijuana.
B.Orienting Material
Using the US Dept. of Health and Human Services logic, 40% of the people in this room have tried this drug for some reason or another. You definitely wouldn’t be the first to exercise the therapeutic advantages of the plant. Marijuana has been used medicinally for thousands of years, reaching many different regions on the planet and supported by a long list of scientists, philosophers, and independent researchers. Its overwhelming research has led to some interesting advancements in modern technology.
(Transition) However the earliest recorded therapeutic usage dates back to almost 6,000 years ago.
II. Body
Main Point: Long & Diverse History
1. Around 2700 B.C. the Chinese emperor Shen Nung, who is popularized as the “Father of Chinese Medicine”, recognized the plant as having significant effects in the treatment of malaria, rheumatic pains, and gout.
2. Another interesting period in history deals with an Iranian philosopher named Zoroaster, who is also founder of the ancient religion Zoroastrianism (zawr-oh-as-tree-uh-niz-uh m). In about 550 B.C. he writes a sacred text which lists more than 10,000 medicinal plants. Which one is number one? You guessed it – Marijuana.
3. According to The American Cancer Society, by the time of the mid-1800’s marijuana was being used for strychnine poisoning, intestinal pain, epilepsy, cholera, and even asthma.
(Transition) Modern technology has changed things quite a bit in a relatively small amount of time.
B. Main Point: There have been several notable advancements in medicinal marijuana technology in the last 50 years, most notably…
1. Marinol, the first synthetic form of THC was made available in 1985. The Food and Drug Administration has determined that Marinol is safe, effective, and has therapeutic benefits for use as a treatment for nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, and as a treatment of weight loss in patients with AIDS. However, it does not produce the harmful health effects associated with smoking marijuana.
2. Fast forward to today and WebMD reports that medical marijuana has demonstrated promising results in dealing with brain tumors by causing the cancer cells to work against themselves rather than the brain.
(Transition) Potentially curing cancer is like a quantum leap from helping your asthma.

I’m stuck on the conclusion and I need to start practicing this…. I know I’m supposed to summarize the points, but I feel like I’m going to sound redundant. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

My grandfather has been diagnosed with gout about three months ago, and began to receive treatment. He was placed on Allopurinol and Colchicille and began to suffer side effects to the Allopurinol. He suffered huge weigh loss and his hemoglobin dropped. He was taken off of the Allopurinol and his hemoglobin levels went back to normal. Now his feet and legs have swollen to a plity and passes out frequently. A new symptom that has a risen is, shaking spells where he seems as though he is suffering a seizure but is responsive. This has made us believe that he might be suffering something neurological. If anyone can help us we would be very thankful.

EPIDEMIC OF SWINE INFLUENZA CAN BE PREVENTED BY THE SELF-HEMOTERAPY?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 1 Comment
Epidemic of swine influenza can be prevented by the self-hemotherapy
In times of crisis, and in particular that we are living now, all possible resources to mitigate the effects of the crisis must be sought and evaluated.
Since 2004, the Brazilians are aware of the therapeutic procedure in the very old and traditional medical and veterinary, known as self-hemotherapy from a video circulated on the Internet through You Tube, containing an interview with Dr. Luiz Moura, resident doctor in Rio de Janeiro.
Subsequently the procedure was banned by ANVISA in 2007, which fortunately did not prevent many people who continue using the procedure in the treatment and prevention of many diseases such as acne, arthritis, asthma, amidalite, gout, influenza and even several diseases auto-immune. After the ban, the patients who were using the self-hemotherapy were mobilized in their defense and have signed a petition addressed to the President of the Republic, requesting the release of the practice claiming that it is a therapeutic procedure with no known risk to the patient and extremely effective in the prevention of diseases in general, since it is a nonspecific vaccine, capable of strengthening the immune system against various diseases, including influenza, caused by different types of viruses.
As the world lives in a climate of panic because the risk of swine flu appeared in Mexico in abril/2009, becoming a global pandemic like the Spanish flu of 1918, which some estimates reached 50 million deaths, or the Asian flu 1968, our duty to re consider the question of the use of self-hemotherapy in Brazil. The Spanish flu came to Brazil in October 1918 and remained for several weeks, until the end of November, but it was enough to kill at least 35 thousand people, mostly in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. According to scholars and medical specialists worldwide, a new influenza pandemic occurs more or less every 40 years and was last recorded in 1968, influenza in Hong Kong or Asia, where it is estimated that killed some 4 million people in the world. So 1918 + 50 = 1968 + 40 = 2008. Influenza was late, but arrived. Not by chance the World Health Organization (WHO) with the assistance of experts from around the world is pointing since the end of the 90s about the threat of an influenza pandemic in this new century. It is believed that, despite the current resources in the medical field and in the best condition of health of the global population, the ease of transport and the huge mass of people to move to each corner of the world each day will be able to spread the virus to all continents in only 4 days.
Taking into account that the application of preventive injection of the patient’s own blood, taken from the vein and apply the muscle has the property of strengthening the reticule-endothelial system (immune system) as it stimulates the body to increase the number of macrophages in the blood from 5% to 22% in 8 hours after application, maintaining that level for 5 days, is extremely useful, given the epidemic of swine flu, the application of the vaccine, not only for Brazilians who will travel to Mexico, but also to Mexicans have not yet hit by flu, which already has the mortality rate of 6%, demonstrating that this is really an epidemic of great gravity.
If the epidemic spread to other countries, which seems inevitable as the daily traffic of persons from Mexico and the disease continues to have an incubation period of 3 to 7 days, just a passenger contaminated by viruses, into a country to create conditions for transmission of the virus to others and so on. Is provided only as a vaccine specific for this strain of influenza in swine in about 6 months, by then the epidemic will have produced a disaster of major proportions.
Moreover we know that the influenza virus, the cause of influenza, because of their constant mutability, requires the production of new medicines. Even the vaccine, an important innovation emerged in the mid 90s, could have reduced efficacy in terms of the characteristic of the disease to submit to each winter with a new look.
As this is an emergency, we believe the prudent application of the injection of blood from the patient’s own vein (5 ml.), With an interval of 5 days to maintain the body with the index of macrophages in blood around 22% especially if the epidemic really is installed and remain for a long time.
Obviously we can not ignore also the food, which must be of good quality, including vegetables, legumes and fruits, especially citrus and those with large amounts of vitamin C, such as cherry, kiwi, cashew, etc.. Clearly, in the case of an epidemic, we must also avoid agglomerations, indoors, cinemas, theaters, etc., using surgical masks for protection, and goggles to protect eyes, can also absorb the virus.
And there are no contra-indications for the procedure of self-hemotherapy believe a humanitarian issue, before the current

Please help–I am pretty worried about taking this steroid cream the doctor prescribed?
Filed Under Best Gout Treatment | 6 Comments
He took zero medical history, only filled out form with name and address and insurance. No assistant took any medical history.
I was told I have eczema..I broke out in an extremely itchy rash on my calves after remodeling. He concurred it was probably an allergy (to the dust or possible mold stirred up) that went to eczema.
Natural treatments I tried did not help. I want to get rid of it as it is unsightly and itchy but I am worried about potential problems.
He ordered a steroid cream (betamethasone dip aug .05% cream) for 6 weeks. He said it would be a lot better in a week but if I discontinued it before 6 weeks, it may come back.
I have just been told I may have high blood pressure, I had a fasting blood sugar of 151 (but ai c was 5.9)..this means I am prediabetic they said, Also I have developed severe gout and have arthritis. I am also clinically depressed and long felt I had adrenal insufficiency due to high stress for 20 years and symptoms of this.
I read this steroid cream
cream can cause blood glucose to raise and be not advised to take if one has high blood pressure or diabetes. Also it interferes by increasing inflammation which may hurt my gout/arthritis and can exacerbate depression. It causes weight gain and redistribution of weight (in a bad way). If used more than a week, it can cause the adrenal glands to shrink and may cause a rebound effect if not gradually tapered off. It takes the adrenals about 3 months to start working right again and producing its hormones (I think cortisol).
I have a phobia about medicines and almost never take them but I am afraid this eczema rash on both legs will never leave if I don’t use it, I am angry this doctor did not ask me one medical question or get any medical history. I recently was forced into an HMO) and he is the only doctor I see who is an approved dermatologist. The office was packed and I was only with the doctor about 4 minutes..It was fast for everyone it looked like. I am used to doctors
who spend 15-30 minutes with me and they always take a history..I am unsure if I should take it. Do you feel it would be safe? Would he have prescribed it if it was dangerous with certain medical conditions? Does anyone have any experience with taking a steroid cream like this.
I have had this rash since December several problems getting in sooner and two doctors didn’t know what it was, but they were not specialist like this doctor who took no history and glanced at the rash a minute.
